Jiribam, March 24 2010: The NSCN (K) Zeliangrong region has refuted the allegation about involvement of its cadres in an encounter with cadres of the UTLA at Longpi village, Tamenglong district in which four cadres of UTLA were killed.

Notably, the 57 Mountain Division has already claimed its troops were involved in the encounter, reports our correspondent.

Chairman of the outfit Adon Rongmei has rubbished the allegation as false and baseless.

Stating that the GPRN/NSCN(K) Zeliangrong region has nothing to do with the incident of March 21, Adon maintained that it would not be a wise idea to accuse other organisations for the incident.

The chairman further advised the UTLA to stop feeding false information to the public.

The NSCN (K) Zeliangrong has no relation, good or bad with 5 AR, he added.

On the other hand, all the four cadres of the United Tribal Liberation Army (UTLA) who were killed in a reported encounter with troops of 5 AR in the morning March 22 at Longpi village have been identified.

They were UTLA commander-in-chief Sailienthuan Singson alias James alias Nengson (30) s/o Sontinkai of Saikulphai village, Churachandpur district, Lungjathang Singson alias Boipu (23) s/o Khupkhomang Singson of Maokot village, Tousem sub-division, Jangminlal Singson alias Lalboy (25) s/o Thangkhonkhup Singson of Keimai village, Nungba sub-division and Khaiza alias David (22) s/o Paodem of Phaitol village, Jiribam, said a police source.

One AK-56 rifle with two magazines and 36 live rounds, two SLRs with two magazines and 38 live rounds were recovered from the four slain cadres.

All the corpses were handed over to family members after post mortem at Tamenglong district hospital yesterday.
