Imphal, December 11 2008: AFTER NEARLY three months struggle, a resident of Heirok village who was shot at to injure the leg on September 15 last by members of an underground group succumbed to injury at a hospital in Chandigarh.

The resident of Heirok named Laishram Shashikumar (26) son of L Raghumani of Heirok part-2 Chingdongpok, mention may be made that he was shot at to injure at the leg by the members of the underground group in the morning of September 15 last allegedly for violating the ban imposed by them on the Heirok villagers to move out from their respective village for opting to receive arms from the government under SPO.

At the time of shooting him, he was working as salesman at a pharmacy located on the side of the RIMS road.

He had been referred to a hospital at Chantigarh from RIMS hospital where he was first hospitalized after the incident.
