Imphal, July 01 2009: The man killed by Imphal west police commandos last night near Chandranidi under Wangoi police station was a man who failed to return home after going out with a bicycle in the late morning yesterday.

Family members who turned up at RIMS morgue, Imphal today identified the dead body of the man as Sorokkhaibam Jiban (30) son of Late S Tolpishak of Kakwa Sorokhaibam Leikai.

He was married man having a child of seven year.

According to the family, he went out from home yesterday at around 10 am with a bicycle stating that he is going for a work.

Last night, family run from post to pillar searching for him when he failed to back home till late night.

But, the search ended tragedy when families were informed of killing him in police shoot out.

The dead body has been accepted by the family after postmortem at RIMS morgue.

Mention may be made that Jiban was killed by a team of Imphal west police commandos last night at a place at Chandrandradi along the Mayai Lambi under Wangoi police station.

They also claimed recovery of a 9 mm pistol loaded with three live rounds while stating that he is suspected to be KCP (MC).
