Imphal, May 13 2009: Miscreants taking advantage of absent of house guards exploded a bomb at the house of the secretary of the Planning and Development Authority (PDA) this evening leaving splinter injuries to two women, mother and sister-in law of the secretary.

The bomb exploded at around 4.15 pm at the house of the PDA secretary Mangsatabam Gojendro at Laishram Leikai located some 900 meter away on the east of the Porompat police station in Imphal east.

The bomb exploded near the front structure (sangoi) of the house and the two injured women, mother of Gojen named Mangsatabam ongbi Ketuki (80) wife of late Ibopishak and sister in-law Sanatombi (67) wife of Dhanindra were making cotton mattress at the verandah (mangol) of the house.

They have been evacuated at JN Hospital where they have been attended medical treatment.

Injured Sanatombi told that at the time hurling and explosion of the bomb she was making mattress with her mother in-law, her son M Dishanta and an elderly woman of the locality K Ibecha.

The bomb suddenly blasted while they were taking rest after work, she added.

�While we are taking relaxation from work, something like heavy mental fell down and suddently exploded," she said observing that the bomb was hurled from the side of the main entrance gate of the house.

Gojen said that none of the underground served monetary demand at personal level from him but there is demand from the office.

Some two year, one bomb was also placed at his gate.

As usual today also he attended office with his escort from 7 MR without detaining any of them thinking that there were not threats at his home, he said strongly protesting the act of exploding bomb at his house and terming it as uncivilized act.

Meanwhile, strongly protesting against the act of exploding bomb at the house, secretary nongthonbam Sadananda of Citizen Club, Soibam Leikai said the act is not an act which a man could do.

He also said that the club with the local people will launch agitations against the act of explosion of bomb at the residential area.
