Imphal, November 11 2009: The dead body of the escort commander of MLA V Hangkhalian, lying unclaimed at RIMS morgue after he was lynched by his colleagues on November 8 last, has been taken by the family following an agreement with the government today.

The agreement between the JAC formed in connection with the death of Inaotomba and government during a talk held yesterday evening, according to members of the JAC.

The JAC put down four demands, payment of ex-gratia to the bereaved family, provision of a government job to one of the sons of the deceased, payment of in service salary to the family till his service superannuation and dismissed of all the personnel involved in the murder of the escort commander.

Chief Minister assured of translating two of the demands, payment of ex-gratia and provision of a government job to next of kin of the deceased but asked to wait action taken of the other two demands, payment of in service salary and dismissed of the personnel involved in the murder as per finding of the enquiry report which the authority has ordered.

With the assurance of translating the two demands at the earliest, the JAC agreed to accept the dead body, JAC members said.

It is pertinent to mention that eight personnel allegedly involved in the murder of their commander have been taken into police custody for seven day after producing in the court.
