Moreh, February 10: Seeking election of Communist Party of India (CPI) candidate Onjamang Haokip from 42 Tengnoupal assembly constituency, party MLA and Wangjing-Tentha contestant Dr M Nara assured that CPI would give foremost priority to the border town of Moreh inhabited by different communities in case the party is elected to power.

Dr Nara was speaking at the flag hoisting ceremony of Onjamang Haokip at his Moreh ward no 2 residence.

Noting the contrast between Moreh town and neighbouring Namphalong in Myanmar, he remarked that it was most unfortunate for the crucial Moreh town to remain in such a pathetic backward condition.

Claiming that the SPF Government led by O Ibobi would not have been able to last full five year tenure without CPI, he predicted that no single party would be able to get absolute majority in the 9th Assembly elections.

Dr Nara conveyed his firm belief that at least 10 CPI candidates would get elected in the ongoing elections.

He further claimed that CPI would certainly be a party in the formation of the next Government.

Besides CPI Manipur State Secretary B Sharma, the flag hoisting ceremony was also attended by leaders of different communities, members of Moreh Block Chiefs' Association and Tengnoupal Chiefs' Association.
