KCP (MC) claims hand in blast at Raj Poly Clinic

Imphal, July 09 2009: The proscribed KCP (MC) has claimed responsibility for the bomb blast inside Raj Poly Clinic campus at North AOC last night at about 11 .

According to a press release issued by the outfit's information and public relation officer Puranthaba, the attack was carried out for violating the guidelines laid down by the outfit for all hospitals.

After last night's bomb attack, the outfit would never negotiate with the authority of Raj Poly Clinic on any condition, it said.

Even as some hospitals and private clinics have started implementing the guidelines laid down by the party, the outfit listed Babina Diagnostic Centre, Langol View Clinic, Suba Hospital, Shanti Hospital, S Kumar Hospital, Chamber of Commerce Hospital, Raj Poly Clinic, Catholic Hospital and Mothers' Care Hospital among those hospitals which have been refusing to implement the guidelines.

Asserting that the selfish managers of these hospitals and clinics have been charging exorbitant fees for treatments without any distinction between poor and well to do patients, the outfit pledged that all those stubborn managers and proprietors would be taught befitting lessons.

It also appealed to all the people not to go to these hospitals and clinics in order to avoid any untoward incident.

Meanwhile taking strong exception to the bomb attack inside Raj Polyclinic campus, staff of the clinic staged a protest demonstration today.

A hand grenade hurled by some unidentified persons at the private hospital exploded inside its campus at about 11 last night.

One attendant was hurt in the explosion.
