Imphal, July 07 2009: A waiter of Hotel City Inn located at North AOC here sustained injuries when unidentified persons attacked the hotel with guns.

A police source informed that the incident took place at 7.55 pm today.

Three fired cases of ammunition were recovered outside the hotel.

The injured waiter, Rajesh Talukdar (19) of Gosainagar (Lakhimpur), Assam was at the reception counter together with the manager, assistant manager and some other staff when the hotel came under attack, said sources.

Rajesh was hit by a bullet on the left shoulder.

He was admitted to Raj Polyclinic.

Identity and motive of the assailants could not be ascertained as yet.

Nevertheless, it is suspected that the attack might be related to a monetary demand made by a Kuki UG group.
