Imphal, April 05 2009: The proscribed UNLF has today alleged that Cpl Kh Kunja alias Konthouba of Ithing Mamang Leikai and Cpl Oinam Premjit alias Tondon of Ningthoukhong Kha Khunou were killed in fake encounter by a combined team of Thoubal police commandos and 23 AR on April 4 and not in a shoot out as claimed by the security forces.

In a statement the outfit claimed that the two were arrested by the 23 AR with the help of some elements putting on the masks of the KCP who are on the payroll of the enemy between the nights of April 3 and 4 from a house at Nunggoi Huidrom near Sekta.

The identities of the elements who donned the mask of the KCP and gave the information to the 23 AR at Yaingangpokpi have also been established, claimed the outfit.

The statement issued by the SSP of Thoubal police is nothing but to please the masters that be, added the statement.

The UNLF/MPA share the sorrow of the bereaved family members, it added.
