Imphal, January 02 2008: A 15 year old boy who had gone to Urup hills to collect firewood has been found killed brutally.

Md Wahidur alias Naocha (15) s/o Maheruddin of Keirao Makting Makha Leikai under Irilbung police station went to collect firewood from Urup hills last morning.

As he did not return the whole day, local villagers went out in search of Wahidur this morning.

The search party found the lifeless body of the boy behind the Langdum water supply plant in a grove in Urup hills.

It was observed that the boy was killed in the most brutal manner.

Besides injury marks in the private part, a stick was found inserted in the mouth which pierced through the back of the head.

His hands were found tied behind while his legs were also found tied up by a belt.

Empty cases of dendrite (adhesive gum) were also found at the spot.

According to family members, Wahidur left for Urup hills with some younger children of the village to collect firewood.

While the other children returned back at about 2 pm yesterday, Wahidur did not come back.

As conveyed by the children who went together with Wahidur, he stayed back resting at a culvert at Thongrang.

When the elders went there, only the bunch of firewood, a heavy knife for cutting firewood and the cloth using for carrying the firewood on head were found there.

But Wahidur was not seen anywhere.

On the other hand, denouncing the macabre killing, a public meeting was held at Keirao Litan Makhong this afternoon where a joint action committee has been constituted.

The JAC has resolved not to claim the corpse until the Govt book the murderers.

A case has also been registered at Irilbung police station in connection with the killing.
