Imphal, December 30 2008: IDENTITIES OF two dead bodies lying unidentified at RIMS morgue after they were shot dead in two separate encounters with Commandos and Assam Rifles on December 29 have been established today.

The one who was shot dead in the encounter with the combined force of Imphal East Police Commandos and 23 AR at Napet Palli was identified as Thiyam Ibungo (20) son of Th Ningthou from Thoubal Tumukhong.

As stated by his family members, he along with his friend Moirangthem Inaobi (30) son of M Tomba went to Kishomyang with an amount of Rs 10,500 to pay amount for purchasing timbers in a Yamaha motorcycle bearing registration number 2199 on December 28.Whereabouts Inaobi still not known, the family said.

One more person who was shot dead in the encounter with Imphal West Police Commandos and troops of 32 Assam Rifles yesterday at Singjamei Liwa road has also been identified as Md Taslimuddin (27) son of Md Karimuddin of Lilong Mairenkhul.

According to family members, he was abducted by some unknown persons in a Maruti Santro of steel colour having no number plate from his house gate at around 5.40 pm yesterday while he was about to go to buy medicines for his ailing mother.
