Imphal, April 25 2009: TROOPS OF 20 Assam Rifles have killed a suspected underground activist last evening around 7 pm near the Laiching Minou village on the road to Tuinem village under Tengnoupal police station in Chandel district and reportedly recovered one AK assault rifle along with four live rounds of ammunition.

The dead body of the suspect was handed over by the troops of the Assam Rifles to Kakching police station who transferred the same to Lilong PHC morgue for identification and post mortem .

The identity of the slain suspect was established today as one Md Musha (26), son of Md Mubarak of Sora village in Thoubal district.

After post mortem today, the dead body has been handed over to the family.

AR reports said, he was an activist of the PULF.

However, the report did not mention which particular group of PULF that deceased activist belonged to.
