Rally decry terrorism

Imphal, December 04, 2008: A mass procession on the "Mangani Leihul," of Maibam Bimolchandra, assistant manager (housekeeping) at Obiroi Trident who was among the victims of the terror attacks in Mumbai has called an end to the terrorism.

The rallyists carried various placards with slogans decrying the terrorist activities of killing civilians.

The procession marched from Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai to Top khongnangmakhong.

Around 100 people, relatives of the deceased family, friends and well wishers took part in the rally.

"Down to terrorism, how many lives will you claim; terrorist, stop killing people," etc.

were wriiten on the placards.

Maibam Bimolchandra who was working as assistant manager (housekeeping) at Obiroi Trident was among the victims of the terror attacks in Mumbai.

His dead body was brought to Imphal on November 29 and last rites performed at his birth place at Khurai Ningthoubung in Imphal east on the same day.

On the fateful day, Bimolchandra had just ended his shift and was waiting for his replacement on the ground floor reception when the terrorists struck, killing him on the spot.

In the terror attack mention may be made, at least 184 people died and over 300 wounded.

Nine terroists also killed.
