Imphal, June 04 2009: Various Meira Paibi organizations and educational institutions organized sit in protests decrying the detention of five students under National Security Act (NSA) in connection Professor Md Islamuddin murder case on May 25 last.

Students staging sit-in-protest against detention of five student leaders under NSA

The students of Laishram Mani Memorial English Academy of Kongba Dhobhi Lampak, Leelasingh Khongnangkhong High School, Jatra English School, Khurai Heikrumakhong, Khumidong Primary School, Khurai Heikrumakhong, Malika Standard English High School of Changangei, MEM Higher Secondary School, Ghari, JIM Higer Secondary School of Sangaiprou and Tiny Tots Unique School of Deulahland and the Meira Paibis of Irilbung Bazaar Women's Development Association and Changangei Meira Paibi Apunba Lup staged in today's sit in protest against imposition of NSA against the detained students.

'Allow peaceful learning environment for students', 'immediately release the detained students', 'don't try to abolish Students' Union' and 'Don't consider students as militants' were displayed during the sit in protest.
