Three more slain UGs identified

Imphal, February 20 2009: Identities of all the three more underground cadres died in the clash between a combined group of PREPAK and NNC and NSCN(IM) cadres have been established today.

With this, identities of all slain underground cadres established.

Mention may be made that the five cadres were killed in the gunfight occurred between the two rival groups at a place between Thangom and Betheljang village located on the side of the Old Cashar road (Tongjei Maril) under the Khoupum police station on February 18 .

Among the three slain cadres one was identified as Huidrom Amuthoi (16) son of H Shantikumar of Sekmaijin Awang Leikai.

He had left home in February last year.

Another one was identified as Longjam Aboy (14) son of Chaoba of Thoubal Khunou Awang Leikai.

He also left home to join underground on July 13 last year.

The third one was identified as Wahengbam Romesh (21) son of W Rajo of Wangoi Waheng Leikai.

Police has handed over all the dead bodies of the slain cadres except that of Romesh to their respective families after post mortem at RIMS morgue today.

On the other hand, till today seven dead bodies including that of SDO, Kasom Khullen and his two staffs are lying at RIMS morgue.

Of the seven three are unidentified dead bodies and out of them two were those of killed by the troops of the 29 Assam Rifles on February 14 last at Mapithel village under Tengnoupla police station while the other was killed by the 8 AR at Gamangei under Chakpikarong police station on February 18 .
