Posters campaign reaches Kwakeithel

Imphal, July 08 2009: The ongoing poster campaign against killing spree in the state launching by the Working Group of Meira Paibi Movement has reached Kwakeithel today.

The poster campaign cum street corner meeting at Kwakeithel today was organized by the Poirei Eta Meira Paibi Apunba Lup, Keishampat unit and the working group.

AMUCU vice president, KT Rehman and COHR convener Phunindro Konsam also took part in the street corner meeting.

AMUCO vice president, KT Rehman said the spate of killing in fake encounter by depositing weapon after shooting to dead men by the security forces is occurring in the state allegedly government given license to kill people to them.

If the killing spree is not stopped, the condition of the state will be worsening, he said.

COHR convener, Phunindro Konsam observing too much to the act of killing by the security forces, said it is due to failure on the part of the state government to take action against the erring security personnel involved in the fake encounters.

By not taking up any appropriate action to the security forces involved in the killing, it has been shown that government is supporting the killing spree under a policy programme.

During the campaign, poster with various slogans to stop killing in the state were stick at the public view places.
