Abducted owner found killed, vehicle sold

Imphal, May 03 2009: The dead body of a person who was abducted by unidentified miscreants on April 29 last from Senapati Bazar has been found today with several bruise marks at a place in Senapati district while the vehicle seized along with him by the abductors was said to have been sold.

According to report received here, the slain person has been identified as Kholli Obhoyuo son of (L) Kholli Mao of Tumuyon Khullen under Kangpokpi Police station.

His vehicle (Mahindra Jeep) bears registration number NL-01-2472 .

On April 29, on receipt of the report of abduction of the person, the police who promptly swing to action to track the kidnapped person had recovered his vehicle the same day at a place in Lower Phaibung which had already been sold by the abductors.

However, the police were clueless on the whereabouts of the abducted person and his captors, the report said.

The lifeless body of Kholli Abhoyou, believed to be bludgeoned, was found this afternoon at a place in Khabung village.

The dead body was picked by the Senapati police and the same has been deposited at the Senapati police station.

The report added that his body will be brought to RIMS tomorrow for conducting post mortem.

Police have claimed to have detained some suspects relating to the crime.

However, the police refused to disclose the identity of the suspected culprits.
