Meet resolves to unite against killing civilians

Imphal, June 29 2009: A meet which discussed on the present trend of killing people by armed outfits including security forces held at Singjamei Oinam Thingel has appealed all civil organizations and JAC formed in connection with killing of people by armed groups to work jointly in pressing all concerns to stop killing people.

At the concluding part of the meet organized by the Committee on the Kiling of L Satish with the theme "killing of people by armed persons", resolved to call a meeting of all the JACs formed in connection with the killing of people without any reasons and to launch agitation against the unrestrained killing people joining hands with state level civil organizations.

It also unanimously resolved to protest press the state government to stop killing by the security forces like having no law at all in the state.

Former head master of Oinam Thingel JB School, L Achou and EC Club, Oinam Thingel, S Ibobi seated the dice of the meeting in which president of the UCM, Yumnamcha Dilip, social activist Joy Nongmaithem and human rights activist Jenin Meetei also attended as special invitees.

UCP, president Yunmamcha Dilip observed that the current trend of killing people will continue till corruption is not rooted out from the state.

So long as ministers, MLAs and bureaucrat officers are taking bribes at the time of recruiting security personnel, they will not stop civilians for the sake of money.

To stop such unrestrained killing of civilians by the security forces, a mass movement is a must he said adding that there is the need of teaching a lesson to this present government.

He also said that for justice to get, people need patient and need to face hindrance to be come up while raising the voice.
