Imphal, July 21 2009: Concluding the first round of investigation into the murder case of prof Md Islamuddin of Manipur University on May 25, the CBI team has left Imphal for New Delhi today to submit the finding report to its head office, official source said.

The six member team of the CBI led by an additional superintendent, DS Mann has investigated into the fact and circumstance leading to the killing of the professor, Md Islamuddin by staying in Imphal.

During the investigation process, CBI took statements of media persons, candidates contested in the election of MUSU for the session 2009-10 .

After submitting the first round investigation report, the CBI team is likely to come back in the state for further investigation after ten days, the source said.
