Imphal, December 14 2008: SUSPECTED UNDERGROUND activists deposited a bomb at the house of a man who contested in the last Gram Panchayat elections as Pradhan at Lilong Yangbi under Lilong police station this morning.

The same has been disposed off by the police later.

Reports said that the bomb was found at the house of one Md Kasim of Lilong Yangbi who was a candidate for pradhan this early morning.

The motive behind the placing of the bomb could not be immediately confirmed but police suspected it as a threat to the man in connection with monetary demand.

The bomb threat to the house has been strongly condemned by the Eleven Star Co-ordinating Committee, Lilong the Diamond Youth Club and residents of Lilong Yangbi Leikai, Leihaokhong and appealed to all concerns not to repeat such actions which amount to cause panic in populated areas in future.
