Imphal, May 02 2009: THE BANNED Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) has condoled the death of a soldier of its army Meeyamgee Yawol Lanmee (MYL) and conveyed message of condolences to the aggrieved family.

In a message of condolence, Deputy Secretary, Publicity and Research, KYKL Apabi Mangang revealed that Naorem Tamon @ Sunder @ Ramjee (35), son of N Ibotombi of Kakching Irum Mapal, who was killed by a combined team of central security force and Imphal West commando around 9.15 pm of April 29 at Laingam Khun under Lamshang police station in a fake encounter was a soldier of MYL of KYKL.

Apabi Mangang further stated that Pathou (comrade) Naorem Tamon was arrested at about 2.40 pm of the same day, i.e.April 29 by a team of Imphal West district police commandos from a brick field located at Hiyangthang and shot death at Laingam village.

When Pte Tamon was arrested, he had no weapon nor any incriminating document and object with him, Apabi Mangang stated and added that the 9 mm pistol and some bullets allegedly recovered from Pte Tamon as the police claimed were the same old and withered weapon that the security force and police commandos make the dead persons hold every time they kill them.

After torturing Tamon as much as they could, the policecommandos kept him in front of Lamshang Police Station till dusk, waiting for an opportune hour when people would be less, Apabi Mangang alleged.

As the sun had set and people's movement had reduced, he was shot dead in a fake encounter.

The people of nearby areas know it fully well, he stated.

Killing an unarmed person like Tamon, the police commandos who are unable to judge who are enemies and who are friends and who can not know their mothers and their children, will never be able to discourage the revolutionaries who are struggling to snatch back independence of the land from the enemies.

To shed a few drops of blood and to sacrifice a few lives is a must in the struggle for liberation of a nation, of which the countries which had fought the same war and got liberated stand testimony, Apabi Mangang's message contended.

He further stated that the party is proud of the fact that Pathou Tamon had carried with him the secrets of the party and his own and died courageously.

The KYKL and MYL offer revolutionary salute to the late Pathou Pte Tamon, the message stated.
