Imphal, February 01 2010: The matter of killing of a widow and her teenage daughter at Phayeng will be brought up to the knowledge of the National Commission of Minority by the All Manipur Meetei Christian Forum (AMMCF), an official source said today.

The body will be brought to the notice of Vice-Chairman of the National Commission of Minority, former MP, HT Sangliana when he visits the state on February 5 next.

Apostle M Ibochouba has been given the charge of presenting a detail report to the Manipur State Minority Commission for onward submission to the visiting vice chairman, the source added.

For compiling the report, a team of the AMMCF today conducted spot visit at Phayeng to the house of the murdered Chanbi and the place from where the dead bodies of both mother and daughter were discovered on January 23 last.

Mention may be made that the victim mother and daughter were not only schedule caste but also followed Christianity.

The vice chairman of the National Commission for Minority is coming to the state to take stock of the situation of the minorities in the state.

He will also conduct spot visit at Phayeng, Taothong, Utlou and Wangjing where churches built by Meeteis adopting Christian religion were burnt down by miscreants in recent times.
