Imphal, May17 2009: One underground suspect was killed in a reported shoot-out with a combined team of Thoubal district police commando and 21 AR this morning around 6.30 at a place under Kakching police station in Thoubal district.

According to report, one 9mm pistol, a magazine with six live rounds, and four empty cases were recovered from the possession of the slain cadre.

The dead body was handed over to the family members after conducting post-mortem at Lilong PHC.

The deceased, said to be a PREPAK activist, has been identified as Elangbam Bishorjit alias Bobby (33) of Wabagai Tera Pishak.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, a young housewife, identified as Toijam (O) Memtombi (20) wife of T Birjit of Kodompokpi Mamang Leikai under Nambol Police station, has been admitted to the RIMS hospital due to severe burnt injury this morning around 10.30.The cause of the fire which charred the young housewife is yet to be established.
