Imphal, April 02 2009: Sibrai Bismai Bosong (Dimasa Dharma Sabha) has strongly condemned the gruesome killing of twelve persons including five Zemi Nagas by the Dima Harlam Douga (Jewel) group in North Cachar Hills in Assam recently.

In a press release issued today, Advisor, Binita Jigdung and General Secretary, Hiranmoy Bothari of Sibrai Bismai Bosong (SBB) Assam and Nagaland, Dimapur stated that the SBB is saddened to learn that five Zemi Naga brothers were killed on March 19 and 23 and seven persons hailing from the bordering villages in NC Hills.

According to the press release, it is alleged that the DHD (J) is behind the gruesome murder and social unrest.

Sibrai Bismai Bosong (Dimasa Dharma Sabha) condemns the killings of innocent Naga brothers in its strongest possible words.

The Bismai Bosong appealed to the Government of Assam to arrest the killers and punish them as per the law.

The Sibrai Bismai Bosong states that killers may be from Dimasa community.

It does not mean that whole of the Dimasa community is at war with Nagas in NC Hills.

The Dimasas and Nagas have been living in complete harmony with each-other.

They have been sharing their joys and sorrows with each other from ancient times.

There has never been any wide spread ethnic clash between the both.

And the present unfortunate incident i.e.the killing of five Nagas on March 19 and 23 and critically injuring the seven, is also not an ethnic clash.

The entire Dimasa Community do not subscribe the intolerant philosophy of any militant organization, be it DHD (J) or any other militant organisation.

It is, therefore, the need of the our that the leaders and prominent citizens of both the communities to sit together across the table and short out the differences, if any, at the earliest so that such type of saddening incident do not occur again, the press release stated.
