Imphal, March 20 2009: The suspect who was killed by a combined force of Thoubal and Imphal west police commandos in joint operation with the troops of 12 Maratha Li on March 18 at Wangoi Yangoi has been claimed as mason even as Thoubal police commandos in joint operation with troops of 34 Assam Rifles has killed a suspected KCP(MC) activist at Samaram village under Thoubal police station this early morning at around 4 am.

At least nine women protestor injured when police dispersed a group of women from Pourabi who were heading towards chief minister's bungalow to lodge complaint to the chief minister claiming that Tharoijam Inoa (25) son of Biren of Pourabi Mayai Leikai was an innocent mason.

The nine women protestors sustained injuries when police fired tear gas, they attempted to proceed towards the chief minister's bungalow defying the restriction to submit a memorandum in connection with the killing.

Injured women namely- Y Amurei, N Memma, N Memtombi, Y Ibemchal, K Renu, L Thoibi, Sumati and Thajamanbi have been hospitalized at JN Hospital, Porompat.

Local MLA, Th Lokeshwor who visited the injured women at the hospital this afternoon has promised that if the deceased youth happened to be an innocent the killers will be find out and award punishment according to the gravity of the crime they committed.

He also informed the protestors that chief minister has directed the authority to submit a detail report with regard to the killing of the youth.

Family as well as locals claimed him to be a mason and left home on the day which he was killed.

The family he left home to purchase medicine for his ailing mother who was suffering from blood pressure and had no link with any underground elements.

Mention may be made that government forces killed Inao in what they said in encounter on Thursday evening at Wangoi Yangoi Khongbal with a claim that AK Rifle recovered from his possession.

A local JAC formed in connection with the killing, on the other hand, has threatened to launch severe form of agitation within the next three days with the promised that till justice is delivered to the people, the dead body will not be accepted.

Meanwhile, another youth said to be suspected KCP(MC) has been gunned down by a combined team of Thoubal police commandos and troops of 34 Assam Rifles today at Samaram in Thoubal at around 4 am.

Police said a 9 mm pistol loaded with three live rounds recovered from the slain who was later this afternoon identified as Waikhom Amumacha (25) son of late Tenden of Langmeidong Mamang Leikai.

He was a driver sometime back and now staying at home.

He was picked by some unidentified persons coming into a car (Maruti Santro) with no number plate from the locality where he hailed from yesterday morning at around 7.30 pm, local reports said.

On the day of picking up him, locals lodged a complaint with the Waikhong police station and family came to know the dead of Amumacha after the Waikhong police informed that he was killed in an encounter, locals said.
