Imphal, April 18 2009: The Manipur People's Party (MPP), on behalf of the Manipur Democratic Alliance urged the concerned authority to end the ongoing Operation Summer Storm at Loktak at the earliest time possible in the interest of the grief-stricken villagers around the area due to the operation.

A press statement released by the MPP General Secretary, S Umananda Singh said that the operation could also cause the extinction of the endangered Sangais while drawing the attention of the concerned authorities in this regard.
