Imphal, July 07 2009: At least two non-locals were shot to injure by miscreants in separate incidents occurred in Imphal and Thoubal tonight.

The shooting of non-local in Imphal occurred at City Inn Hotel at North AOC under Imphal police station tonight at around 8 pm.

Miscreants fired at least three rounds of guns towards the counter of the hotel.

One of the bullets hit the non-local identified Rajesh Talikar (19) son of Ratimohon hailing from Gosainagar of Likhimpur in Assam at his left arm.

He was immediately hospitalized at Raj Polyclinic lolcated opposite to the hotel.

At the time of occurrence of the incident, the manager and some other persons were also in the counter of the hotel.

Police is yet to know the reason behind the attack to the counter of the hotel but suspected related with the extortion demand served by undergrounds.

Reports said that sometimes back KNA activists have demanded money from the hotel.

The other incident occurred at about 8.10 pm at a spot located between Wangbal and Wangjing, six kilometer away on the NH-39 from Thoubal police station.

The injured non-local was identified as Md Kamaluddin (24) son of Md Rashiduddin hailing from Silcher of Assam.

He is currently residing at Wangjing running a bakery shop.

He sustained bullet injuries at both hands and evacuated at RIMS Hospital.
