Imphal, February 07 2010: Women of Sega Road Khwairakpam Leikai today staged a sit-in protest denouncing the act of frequent attacks on the house of Dr Nilchandra of the locality by unknown suspected undergrounds.

On January 31 last some miscreants intruded in the house of the Dr.Nilachandra and fired some rounds.

Earlier on November 16 last year 2009 also, the house of the doctor was ransacked by miscreants causing damage to the household materials and set ablaze a vehicle.

In the sit-in protest staged by the womenfolk of Sega Road Khwairakpam Leikai, womenfolk of Konjeng Hajari Leikai, Sega Raod Khwairakpam Leikai also participated.

Placards with slogans like 'We don't want gun culture, clarify on gun firing at the house, don't cause panic to residents of the area,' etc.

were displayed.

Sobita, wife of Dr Nilachandra, who also took part in the protest recalled the harassments given to the family by suspected undergrounds and said that they are still in dark about the act of the miscreants.

None of underground outfits have so far clarified on the matter, she said, demanding clarification from the group responsible for the act.
