Imphal, December 05 2009: Gauhati High Court, Imphal Bench today ordered Union defense secretary and authorities of the state government to submit a report on the killing of a youth by a combined force of police commandos and Assam Rifles on April 23 of this year in which family of the victim youth alleged as "fake encounter killing".

A combined force of police commandos and troops of 23 Assam Rifles gunned down one youth Alangbam Kiranjit son of Ibohal of Thoubal Hoakha of Thoubal district at Lamali.

Family alleged that he was abducted from Thoubal Heibiyai Chingkhong by police commandos coming on gypsy before he was killed.

Father of the victim, Ibohal filed a writ petition to the high court alleging that his son was killed in a stage manage encounter by the combined force against the Union Defense secretary, union home secretary, CO of the 23 AR, state principal secretary home, state DGP, SP Imphal east district and SP Thoubal district police.

A divisional court of the Gauhati High Court, Imphal Bench comprising Justice K Meruno and AC Upadhaya after hearing to the petition today order the respondents to furnish a report with regard to the allegation within four weeks period.

In the petition filed through his counsel Thokchom Angabala,by Ibohal, he prayed the court to find truth behind the killing of his son alleging that he was killed in stage manage encounter and seek justice to the case.
