Imphal, January 05 2008: IN THE spate of killing in the state, today also a combined force of Imphal west police commandos and troops of 12 Maratha Regiment gunned down a suspected militant at Ningombam Lalmkhai under Singjamei police station even as another one was shot dead by some miscreants at a place not so far away from Koutruk where two youths were abandoned after killing.

The suspected militants was gunned down by the combined force at around 8.25 pm at Ningombam Lamkhai near a paddy field in what police said was encounter.

A .32 pistol loaded with one live round was recovered from the possession of the slain suspect, police said.

Police retrieved the dead body and deposited at RIMS morgue for official procedure.

Meanwhile, another man was also killed at Koutruk nearby the spot where two men were bullets riddled dead bodies were abandoned by miscreants yesterday morning.

Police believed that the killing related with the earlier one.

The miscreants gunned down the unknown person at around 5.50 pm this evening , reports said.
