Imphal, February 04 2009: No let up with the killing spree of the security forces, after killing three suspected undergrounds yesterday, today also another three gunned down in two different incidents in what police said in encounters.

At least four activists of different underground outfits were also nabbed by the security forces from different areas today.

The first incident of today occurred at Moirang Kom located some six kilometer on west of the Waikhong police station at around 2.30.One suspected underground was gunned down by the combined force of Thoubal district police commandos and troops of 21 Assam Rifles in it.

A 9mm pistol loaded with some rounds of ammunitions recovered from the slain suspect, according to the police.

A report received by Hueyen Lanpao suspected the slain youth to be one Arabam Tiken alias Tikendrajit (37) hailing from Sekmaijin Keithel who was abducted by some gun men in civil dress coming to motorcycle at around 10.30 am.

The dead body has been deposited at RIMS morgue after retrieved by the Kakchnig police station for official identification.

The other suspect was killed at a place at Kanchup Chiru under Sapermaina police station this evening at around 6.55 pm by a combined force of Imphal west police commandos and troops of 16 Assam Rifles.

From the possession of the slain man suspected to be PREPAK activist, police recovered a .32 pistol loaded with one live round.

Two empty cases were also found from the spot, police report said.

The slain man is of age around 20 year, wears a red T-shirt and a blur jean trouser.

Lamshang police retrieved the dead body from the spot and deposited at RIMS morgue for official identification.

Meanwhile, today at around 11.50 am, Imphal east police commandos apprehended an activist of the KCP(MC) from Kongba Keithel identified as Laikhruram Nabakishore (52) son of Kullachandra of Knogba Laishram Leikai, said a statement of the SP, Imphal east.

The troops of 36 Assam Rifles also apprehended a KRA militant yesterday at around 4 pm from Saikhul Bazar and seized ammunition of AK-47 rifle and other war like stores.

He was identified as Haoneo Jangmilan and has been handed over to the police, a statement of the PIB (defense wing) said.

Two more PREPAK cadres were also nabbed by the troops of the 57 Mountain Division in a joint operation with the state police commandos today from separate places of Imphal west and Moirang Khunou.

An activist named self style major sergeant Puyam Sundro alias Tomcha alias Iboba was apprehended by a combined team of Imphal west police commandos and 28 Assam Rifles and seized a Chinese hand grenade from him.

The other PREPAK cadres named private Ningthoujam Naocha who is involved in extortion and recruitment for the outfit was also nabbed by the troops of 57 Mountain Division in joint operation with Bishnupur police commandos.
