Imphal, December 02 2008: DECRYING ATTACK with bomb yesterday evening at an oil pump situated at Sagolband in connection with monetary demand, people of the area today staged a sit-in protest.

Mention may be made that a bomb hurled by suspected militants of a group of went off at a patrol pump at Sagolband in Imphal at around 5 pm yesterday.

No human casualty occurred apart from not causing major damage to the oil filling station, police report said.

Decrying the attack to the pump located at the inhabitant area, womenfolk of the locality stageed a sit-in protest beginning from 11 am.

The slogans displayed at the protest site asked whether freedom be achieved by exploding bomb at the public place. The slogans said "No bomb to oil pump," "No to gun culture," "Will freedom be bring about by exploding by bomb", etc.

The sit-in-protest which participated by around 100 women went on till around 4 p.m.
