Imphal, June 02 2009: A 25-year youth running a rice hotel was shot at to injure at the right knee last night by suspected militants at Kangpokpi Bazar in Senapati district even as two suspected cadres of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) gunned down by the Assam Rifles in Chandel district at separate gun violent incidents occurred last night in Manipur A youth named Thangoumang Vaiphei (25) son of Haosei Vaiphei of Gelnom village located on the side of IT road has been evacuated at RIMS hospital.

He is currently running a rice hotel near the Kangpokpi police station.

He was shot at by some miscreants last night around 9 pm at Kangpokpi Bazar.

As revealed by the Thangoumang, the shooting incident occurred when he was going to show up one of his friends residing at Kangpokpi Bazar not so far away from his hotel after closing his hotel.

Three miscreants who asked him "What is he doing, where is he going" before forcing to go with them in a dark corner of the area.

He was beaten up first by them and later, pumped a bullet his right knee.

They also took away a mobile phone and Rs 25 from his possession.

He has been admitted at RIMS Ortho ward.
