Imphal, May 30 2009: The Pangal Students' Organisation (PSO) today posed questions to the government whether it will be an overstatement to assert that the government has also been colluding in the killing of Prof Islamuddin while pointing out the involvement of the IRB personnel under the Home department in the killing.

Asking some questions to the state government and the organisation involved in the killing, a release issued by the general secretary of PSO, Manipur Md.Burhanuddin also raises what made the VC not to provide security to the Proctor who is the in-charge of Home of the University.

What does the silence of the VC regarding the killing of Prof Islamuddin signify and why didn't the VC send out his condolence over the death of Prof Islamuddin?, the PSO statement asked.

It then asks over whether the responsibility of MUSU election was held alone by Prof Islamuddin and what the roles of the VC were in this regard.

The PSO statement also wonders as to how the integrity of Manipur will be protected in this messy situation.

In the wake of the majority community killing people from minority community, killing innocents and leveling charges later, the statement asked if there is no reason to assert that the majority community is assaying to repress and discriminating the minority community.

Eliminating a teacher without pronouncing his faults to the students and the teachers, and without any warning, is an assault against the students' and teachers' community, the statement asserts.

Stressing that teachers were the torch bearers, the statement stated that killing an educator on petty matter like that of MUSU election is unconstitutional.

It also appealed all students of the state to wear black badge for a whole week to show discontentment over the killing of a teacher.

It also added that the PSO will observe the day when Prof Islamuddin was killed as 'the fading of a bright star Day every year.

The PSO also expressed gratitude for conducting religious rite for the late Prof Islamuddin at every Masjid in Manipur yesterday.
