Imphal, December 27 2008: THE DEAD body of the IRB man killed by three gunmen in front of his wife and children has been taken by the family today following government assurance for adequate compensation to the JAC formed in connection with the killing of the IRB man on December 25 .

In a talk with the chief minister, O Ibobi today with the representatives of the JAC at the former official bungalow, the chief minister assured of adequate ex-gratia under the government rule and other benefits like family pension to the bereaved family in which the JAC in turn agreed to receive the dead body and performed the last rites, said the convener of the JAC RK Mohon.

He also said that denouncing the act of the miscreants who killed the IRB man Sh Surjit in front of his wife and children and demanding finding of the culprits, the JAC had decided not to take the dead body.

He also demanded to clarify, if the killing is related with any militant outfit, to reason behind the killing Surjit in front of his family.

On the other hand, the dead body of Ningombam Gopal who served as grade-IV at the Guhawati High Court, Imphal bench killed by a team of Imphal west police commandos at Sagolband Heibok on December 23 has been taken by the family today after postmortem at RIMS morgue.

The dead body has been lying at RIMS morgue since the day as family and locals denouncing the police report of killing him in encounter.
