Imphal, March 25 2010: Security forces opened fire as some unidentified persons suspected to be underground activists fled on seeing movement of security forces at Waroiching area near Leimaram village.

The incident, according to a police source, took place this afternoon during the course of a search operation launched jointly by Bishnupur district police commandos and troops of 4/8 Gorkha Rifles.

The security team advanced towards Waroiching area based on information about presence of UG activists.

The spot is said to be located at an adjoining place in Senapati and Bishnupur district.

As the security personnel moved in, the UG suspects scaled up the higher ranges.

There is no report of arrest or casualty on either side.
