Imphal, November 23, 2009: The Kangleipak Communist Party-Military Council (KCP-MC) has denied that Ngangom Kuber was thrashed to death by the KCP (MC) activists while stating that he died of high blood pressure after taking him for interrogation regarding his role as informer.

It also denied that the man was beaten to death in connection with monetary demand.

A statement issued by Puranthaba asserted that the charge that the man was beaten to death by the KCP (MC) activists was leveled in order to shield the misdeeds of Kuber and his wife Bhanu, and to tarnish the image of the outfit and create misunderstanding among the comrades.

The statement said that Bhanu, the wife of Kuber was punished by god for her wrong doings.

It charged the husband-wife duo with making the outfit's activists land into trouble on many occasions.

It also alleged that Kuber and his wife Bhanu were informers of the commandos and AR.

Three captives of the KCP (MC) had recently escaped when security force personnel arrived at the place where they were being interrogated.

It was because of information passed on to the SF by Kuber, it alleged.

It also informed Mayengbam Kunjabihari, who colluded with Kuber in securing the release of the captives, to contact the outfit within two days.

Warning the locals not to stage any protest meeting, bandh etc.

in connection with the death of Kuber, the statement cautioned that anyone going against the outfit's dictate would be the individuals' responsibility.

Meanwhile, the KCP (MC) also informed Naorem Anand @ Pari of Moidanpok Laimaya and Tongbram Sandhyarani @ Anju of Khumbong Makha Leikai to contact the outfit within two days.

It also clarified that the outfit has no relation with Khundrakpam Momon of Ningthoukhong Kha-Khunou, whom the commandos are hunting for as a comrade of the KCP (MC).
