Imphal, July 11 2009: Despite security measures of the police, attacks on the non-locals continue in Manipur with one more Bihari was shot at to injure by two miscreants in the broad daylight at around 1.30 pm near a public ground at Sagolband Bijoy Govinda under Imphal police station.

The attack on the life of the non-locals staying in the state was amidst tight security measures taken up by the state police to prevent further attack on them after series of killing and injuring to non-locals.

The incident occurred inside the purview where police allowed non-locals to moving for their works as secure place.

Police have prevented non-locals going for works in the outskirt of Imphal city in the wake of series of attack on them.

Eyewitness account said that the non-local later identified as Uttam Kalita (29) son of Sunil Kalita Angabutan village of Assam was attack by two miscreants coming on a scooter (Activa Honda brand).

He is currently staying at a rented house at Sagolband Mabudhou Mantri Maning Leikai.

Miscreants attacked him while he was moving on a bicycle who overcomes him from the back side.

A bullet hit at the cheek exited on the other side.The non-local is currently working at an Iron Almirah industry located at Khurai Lamlong Bazar.

He went at the work place from his rented out at around 9 am.

A bullet hit at left under eyelift exited on the right cheek.

Another bullet hit at thigh.

He was immediately rushed to the RIMS hospital, Imphal where doctors said his condition is stated to be serious.In the aftermath of the attack, police commandos rushed to the spot apart from conducting frisking and checking to all possible exit points by the perpetrators.

However, there were no reports of rounding up any suspects.

In the series of bomb attacks on the houses of the individuals in Manipur,a bomb blast took place at the house of assistant engineer, Akham Narendradaja posting at building division of the PWD at around 12.10 pm today.

He is currently looking after the work of construction of Capital project at Chingmeirong.

At the time of explosion of the bomb, the engineer himself was not at home.

The hand grenade was reportedly hurled by one of two youths coming together on foot.

It exploded at the garage situated in front of the house of the engineer.By the impact of the bomb, daage caused to a motorcycle, an Activa Honda and house at the neighbour of the engineer.

No casualty reported in the blast.
