Imphal, October 09 2009: Troops of Assam Rifles gunned down three suspected underground activists last night about 11 pm at a place located between Andro Khunou and Sanapat under Yairipok police station of Thoubal district.

Family of the one of killed men identified today however said he was picked up by some suspected persons in civil dress from the Jiri Parking at Wahengbam Leikai last Wednesday morning while he was in a bus for travelling upto Jiri with his wife.

Troops of 28 Assam Rifles gunned the three persons said to be PREPAK at a place located between Andro Khunou and Sanapat last night at about 11.10 pm.

The troops handed over three 9 mm pistols, three magazines and ammunitions to the police which said to be recovered from the slain suspects.

Two of the magazines loaded with three live round each while the other loaded with five live rounds.

Three live rounds of AK series rifles along with an empty case also recovered by the police, reports added.

One of the slain persons was identified as RK Brajamani alias Bijali (38) son of Amusana of Sagolband Tera Sapam Leirak in Imphal west.

He was former PREPAK activist.

He was in jail for around one and half year after apprehended by the security force.

Identities of the rest two are yet to establish.

When they were in a bus of Golden Tourist bus, around seven persons in civil dress coming on two vehicles (an Altro and a Gypsy) stepped into the bus and taken away him along with two other youths.

Despite her plea to leave him behind stating that he is under medical treatment with ART, they said to inform the family on the matter and search for his whereabouts later, Chaoba said.

Later, she lodged a written complaint with the Imphal police station regarding the picking up of her husband and rescues him by hunting out persons involved in the abduction of her husband.

Identities of the two other slain persons are yet to establish.

One of the slain man wears a jean trouser and a black colour full shirt, have beard.

The other wears a jean trouser and a black colour T-shirt.

Both seem to be age around 25 to 30 year.

The dead bodies have been kept at RIMs morgue by the Yairipok police.

Meanwhile, the dead body of the man killed by the AR near the border pillar 81 of the international border under Moreh police station of Chandel District is still lying at RIMS morgue as unidentified dead body.
