Imphal, February 01 2009: SOME UNKNOWN persons lobbed a hand grenade at the house of one RK Achousana (44), a contractor residing at Khurai Sajor Leikai, on the western side of Imphal-Ukhrul road in Imphal east district around 9.37 tonight.

The bomb exploded causing some damages to the windows and walls of the house.

However, no one was injured.

Some time back, unknown persons had opened fire at the house without causing any injury to anyone.

In another incident around 7.30 am today, an Indian made high explosive hand grenade of .36 was found lying near the oil pump at Sangakpham on NH 39.Bomb experts of police picked up the bomb and exploded it around 8 am in a safe place.

This is the first incident of this month in which unknown persons left a bomb in Imphal area.
