Imphal, October 24 2009: The proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) and its armed wing, the PLA, have offered revolutionary salute to Pte Lanngamba - who was killed by cadres of NSCN (IM) at Boharam Tangkhul on October 19, and Konthoujam Henery alias Robertson - who died of illness on October 21while waiting for the basic military training.

A statement issued by the chief, department of publicity of RPF, GM Changjou strongly condemned the act of the NSCN (IM) in killing Pte Lanngamba - whose real identity is Khundongbam Chetankumar, son of Kh Inao and Kh (O) Inaocha Leima of Liwa Maibam Leikai - while he was brought back for treatment due to injury he suffered in an encounter with the NSCN (IM) cadres.

Army No.3001 Pte Lanngamba joined the outfit on September 20, 2007 and completed the basic military training.

He was allotted Army number (3001) by the war office on January 1, 2008.He was posted as commander of group 1, 253 Mobile Battalion right after completing the BMT.

He worked with the outfit's auxiliary command till his last breathe.

The statement of GM Changjou remembered him as a disciplined, morale, as well as a dedicated army.

The outfit also shared the grief of the bereaved families.

In another press release, GM Changjou denied that Thingnam Sureshkumar @ Bun @ Naoba (20), son of Th Rajen, of Kakching Khunou Ningthou Leikai, arrested by 21 AR at about 6 pm of October 22 during a search operation at Kakching Khunou area is a cadre of PLA.

He said, the statement of IGAR (South) that he is a cadre of PLA is a fabricated allegation.

He has no relation whatsoever with RPF/PLA, he added.
