Imphal, January 19 2009: A SUSPECTED militant gunned down by a combined team of Thoubal police commandos and troops of 21 Assam Rifles at Keirak Leirak Wabagai under Kakching police station of Thoubal district tonight at around 7 pm even as villagers of Nongmaikhong complaint of missing of two villagers picked up reportedly by a combined force of Imphal west police commandos and troops of Assam Rifles this morning.

From the slain suspect killed at Keirak tonight, police recovered a country made pistol loaded with three live rounds of ammunitions.

Three empty cases were also spotted from the spot where the slain body was found, police said.

Meanwhile, between 6.30 and 8 am today, two persons namely Salam Sanahal (35) son of Thambalngou and Salam Premjit (25) son of Rajen of Nongmaikhong Makha Leikai in Thoubal district who have been picked up by security men said to be a combined team of Imphal west police commandos and troops of AR from their respective home could not be traced out, villagers complaint.

Sanajaoba is the father of one youth who was killed by the security forces as a member of the PREPAK around a month back while Premjit is selling mobile SIM card.

Before leaving with the duo, the security men had also informed the families that they were picked in connection with verification of a mobile number.

No arrest memo issued to the family, the villagers complaint.
