Imphal, June 17 2009: A combined force of Thoubal police commandos and troops of 21 Assam Rifles gunned down a suspected underground cadre early today at around 2.10 am near a waiting shed at Laimanai village, 7 km south west of Waikhong police station.

A 9 mm pistol with magazine loaded with three live rounds, empty cases of 9 mm pistol, a magazine of AK rifles with five empty recovered from the possession of the slain suspect, police report said.

Police retrieved the dead body from the spot and kept at RIMS morgue for official identification.

Meanwhile, a report said that the slain man could be one Laishram Ingo (40) son of late Babuchand of Tangjeng Khunjao Makha Leikai who has joined United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) some year back and retired some three to four month back.

The report further said that Ingocha has been missing since he went out from his home yesterday evening at around 6 pm.

Family turned up at RIMS morgue has identified the dead body.

However, family is yet to claim officially the dead body through the police station concerned.
