RPF salutes deceased cadre

Imphal, April 22 2009: THE BANNED Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has offered revolutionary salute to one of its cadres who has died recently.

A press release issued by Chief, Depar tment of Publicity, RPF, GM Changjou today stated that Moirangthem Naocha @ Pte Mani, Army No.2939, son of M Ibocha and M (ongbi) Memcha, of Heinoubok Makha Leikai, who served in the 252 Mobile Battalion, passed away in an unfortunate incident during a mission of a team of 252 Mobile Bn, A-Coy to attack the enemies.

The RPF and its Army PLA offer revolutionary salute to the late Marup (comrade), the press release said.

It further stated that Pte Mani took the oath on July 31, 2007 and successfully completed the PLA's basic military training (BMT) .

According to the allotment of Army No.issued by the war office on October 18, 2007, he received his Army No.2939.The press release stated that after the training, he was posted in the 252 Mobile Bn where he took a major role in all activities of the Battalion.

He also took part in the Operation Red Sun in 2007.Marup Mani was a gentle, honest and highly disciplined revolutionary, it stated.

GM Changjou also stated that Marup Mani had said when he first joined the party that he voluntarily joined the struggle for liberation out of his love for motherland and the people.

The RPF and its Army PLA conveyed condolences to the aggrieved family and friends on his sudden demise.
