Imphal, June 16 2009: the KCP(MC) group of Lanheiba Meitei, Secretary, Military Affairs has claimed responsibility for today's bomb blast that occurred near the canteen of Manipur Rifles at Kabow Leikai here.

Lanheiba Meitei, in a press release, claimed that the bomb that blasted at the canteen run by non-Manipuris of 6th MR near the Head Quarter of 2nd MR at 9.15 am was carried out by a Special Demo Team (SDT) of Lanjaba Unit 5th of KCP(MC) under the guidance of its Central Security Council.

The blast was planned in such a way that no civilians would suffer any casulty.

However, some civilians got hurt in the blast, for which the KCP(MC) feels sorry, Lanheiba Meitei stated and appealed to the people to forigive the party, and also expressed sharing of the sufferings of the injured persons.

Explaining the reasons why the party blasted the the bomb, Lanheiba Meitei stated that Kangleipak is not a land where liquors can be sold and bought.

A number of civil society organisations and social activists have been continuously carrying out campaigns against drugs and liquors that threaten to destroy the character of the youth.

The organisations have been spreading awareness against the destructive impact of such intoxicants on the society, and trying to build a healthy society by bringing forth healthy pillars of the nation, Lanheiba stated.

In Kangleipak, not any kind of red liquor is brewed and no brewery exists anywhere, Lanheiba Meitei affirmed.

However, he pointed out, everyone, irrespective of poor or rich, drinks red liquor and this is available everywhere.

This is a part of the conspiracy of the colonial forces to make the youth of the land alcholics and drug addicts.

The colonial forces in connivance with the powers-that-be are bringing in abundant supply of liquor and selling them here.

They are running liquor business and earning huge profits by selling the liquors at very high price, Lanheiba stated.

He further said, no one in the society has ever pondered over the impact of this liquor business.

Therefore, in order to make the people stop a while and think about it, the party carried out the bomb blast, Lanheiba stated.

Those soldiers of the Kangleipak Feengang Lanmee (KFL) who took part in the action have returned to their units safely, he said.

On the other hand, the party has nothing to do with the killing of contractor Krishnadas.

The party is against kidnap and killing of people for ransom.

Even if the party abducts any person, it does not kill him without producing him before the media and making him disclose his own guilt.

The party does not indulge in simply killing anyone and accusing him later, Lanheiba stated.
