Imphal, September 30 2009: A bullet-riddled lifeless body of a man was found early this morning at a place between Chingjao and Nungoi Ching under Lilong Police Station in Thoubal district.

One JAC has been formed against the killing of the man and announced a 12-hour bandh on the Imphal-Ukhrul road from 6 am tomorrow.

The dead body has been identified as that of Konsam Sanajaoba (34), son of K Shanta of Khurai Konsam Leikai Ipum Mapal.

A JAC against the killing has been formed today by the residents of the locality where Sanajaoba hailed from.

Family source said, Sanajaoba is a former inter-state bus driver.

He stopped working as a driver around a year back due to injury at the collar bone which he sustained in a road accident.

He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

Family members said, he left his home around 5pm yesterday.

Before leaving his home, he gave three mobile phone numbers to his daughter and asked her to dial the numbers in case he was late.

When his family dialed the numbers after he was said to be late yesterday, no answer had come from the receiver.

They said that one of the numbers remained 'switch-off,' one did not pick up the phone while the other answered that it was a wrong number.

The dead body received bullets at the left chin and near the left eyebrow.

Four empty cases of 7.55 pistol were found near the dead body.

A driving license and a voter's identity card were found on the person of the dead body, according to the police.

Meanwhile, the JAC formed today against the killing of Sanajaoba has decided not to claim the body until justice is done, to appeal the concerned to clarify on the killing, and to impose 12-hour bandh along Imphal-Ukhrul road beginning from 6 AM of tomorrow.

The JAC adopted the resolutions today during a public meeting held in connection with the killing at Khurai Popular High School ground.
