Imphal, November 29 2009: Miscreants fired some rounds of guns at the house of former president of Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) and serving as lecturer of higher secondary school at Heirok part-II Devi Mantop Leikai in Thoubal district last night.

The gun firing incident at the house of the Khundongbam Ashokumar at about 1.15 am.

Ashokumar who is currently serving as lecturer of Heirok Higher Secondary School was president of MUSU for the session 2005-06 .

Unidentified gunmen fired at the house of Ashokumar at the window of his bed room.

Around three rounds of gunshot hit at the window causing damages to the window panes.

No one injure in the firing.

Decrying attack at the house of the lecturer, a public meeting was held at the locality today.

Speaking at the meeting, Ashokumar expressed that the gun firing took place at room where he is sleeping.

It appeared to be a life attempt bid.

When he was leading student bodies during his student-hood, he had not done anything that will hurt sentiment of individuals or other organizations.

And above all, he is now living with earning livelihood and teaching students.

The incident has threatened his live, he said demanding clarification from outfit if any of them carry out the attack.
