Imphal, December 08 2009: Unidentified gunmen fired some rounds of gunfire at the residence of former SK at the office of SDC, Lamshang, Ningthoujam Tomba (70) located at Koutruk Awang Leikai under Lamshang police station yesterday around 8.30pm.Quoting the disclosure of N Tomba, police said that some unidentified persons have asked the family members to open the door when the family just began to retire for the day.

Due to apprehension, the family members did not open the door.

Then the gunmen fired around ten rounds of gunshots at the door, police said.

One almirah, roofs of the house, and a maruti car (MN-01K-9342) parked at the campus were damaged.

Police also recovered eight empty cases and four projectiles of AK rifle from the spot.

Locals of Koutruk convened a meeting this morning around 10 in connection with the incident.

The meeting demanded the group concerned to clarify the matter while also urging them to restrain themselves from causing such incident in future.

This is the second time unidentified gunmen opened fires at the residence of N Tomba.

In December 2008 such incident had occurred, according to the police.
