Imphal, November 18 2009: Eight IRB personnel in Manipur who allegedly involved in the murder of their colleague and escort commander of an MLA have been sent to jail after producing in a local court here today.

The eight IRB personnel, Havildar AS Marhas Tangkhul, rifleman Longshang Sothing, rifleman D Nicolson Maring, rifleman Tungzathing Paite, rifleman Guru Milun, rifleman Kh Basanta, rifleman R Dominic and rifleman Thongpao were produced in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal west and sent to jail after police taken remand for 15 days , till December 2 .

The bizarre incident murder of escort commander of MLA V Hangkhalian Oinam Inaotomba of Bashikhong Mamang Leikai, a havildar of 1st IRB took place on the night of November 8 at the official quarter of the MLA at Lamphelpat.

Police said, the murder case related with missing of a Self Loading Rifle (SLR) with 15 live rounds in a magazine allotted to a personnel among the security escorts named Tungaichin Paite which the arms was found deposit at the battalion headquarter by another personnel.
