Imphal, April 17 2009: With one more UG being killed in the ongoing Op Summer Storm, the total tally of the slain militant has risen to 12.A UG, presumably the second in command of fighting section named Sgt Maj Mangang was killed in encounter on April 16 evening in general area Kumbi Polo Ground.

One pistol along with 10 rounds and some Chinese Grenades have been recovered from his possession.

A PIB(DW) statement informed that 57 Mtn Div troops located in the area have also started providing relief material to those families who have shifted temporarily to relatively safe areas.

Relief material has been provided to about 700 families so far.

GOC 57 Mtn Div and Commander 73 Mtn Brigade have promised that the Army will continue to provide succor to the extent possible to those affected due to the op.
